Celebrating Birthdays

Medicine Buddha’s birthday and our Guru Mingyur Rinpoche’s birthday were celebrated on November 12 in a special Sunday service at the Center.  The celebration included chanting Calling Guru and the Medicine Buddha Sutra Mantra.   A potluck lunch was later served to everyone participating in the birthday event.

Birthday Celebrations in September

Birthday celebrations for Vajrapani Bodhisattva and Ksitigardha Buddha were held at the Center on the Sundays of September 3 and 17.   The celebrations included chanting of the Vajrapani Sutra and Mantra during practice.  Afterwards, a potluck lunch was served to everyone participating in the birthday events.

Yongey Buddhist Center Picnic

Stupa Anniversary

The 16th Anniversary of the Enlightenment Stupa was celebrated on May 28 at Pal Karma Dorje Dzingpa Ling in Northern California.  A Fire Puja Offering has held followed by Stupa Sutra and Avalokitesvara Sutra Chanting.  Everyone enjoyed the activities especially circumambulating the Stupa, which generates merits to all […]

Chenrezig Birthday

Chenrezig Bodhisattva’s birthday (Guanyin) was celebrated on March 12 at the Center.  The practice included chanting of the Four Arm Chenrezig Sutra followed by an Animal Release of earthworms in the nearby park.  A potluck lunch was later served to everyone participating in the special event.

New York Branch Visit

Dorje Palmo visited the New York Branch in Flushing over the weekend of February 12.  During the Sunday meeting, Dorje Palmo led the group in chanting practice and held a discussion on our Guru Mingyur Rinpoche’s book Turning Confusion into Clarity.

Chinese New Year Celebration

Chinese New Year was celebrated at the Center on January 28 with a chanting of the Diamond Sutra followed by an Animal Release of earthworms in the nearby park. A potluck lunch was later served to everyone participating in the holiday event.
