Medicine Buddha’s birthday and our Guru Mingyur Rinpoche’s birthday were celebrated on November 12 in a special Sunday service at the Center. The celebration began with a food offering and continued with prayers, recitations, and chanting including the Vajrapani Mantra, the Calling Guru Sutra, and the Medicine Buddha Sutra. Long Life Prayers were offered for the 17th Karmapa, for Tai Situ Rinpoche, and for Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche. At the conclusion of the chanting and prayers, the members celebrated with a special Khata offering to Mingyur Rinpoche and a birthday cake. A potluck lunch was enjoyed by all.
