On Friday, June 16, Dorje Palmo received word that our Guru’s dear grandfather, Lama Tashi Dorje, had passed away. Mingyur Rinpoche was conducting a retreat in Minneapolis at the time and immediately returned to Nepal to be with his mother, brothers and family members. Rinpoche will remain in Nepal for the traditional Tibetan 49 days of ceremonies.
We are saddened with this news and offer our deepest sympathies to our Guru Mingyur Rinpochela and family. Dorje Palmo fondly remembers Grandpala from many visits to Tergar Osel Ling Monastery. Those of us who have visited Kathmandu and have had the opportunity to meet with Grandpala, were always touched by his love and compassion and grateful for his blessing. Grandpala would have been 100 years old next year at the time of the Tibetan New Year.
