Earlier this month, the Yongey Buddhist Center was blessed with the visit of Khenpo Gyurme, Principal of Rinpoche’s Tergar Osel Ling Monastery in Kathmandu. During the week-long visit, a trip was made up to Pal Karma Dorje Dzingpa Ling in Northern California to visit the Enlightenment Stupa and enjoy the early spring. On Sunday morning Khenpo Gyurme conducted the chanting practice and gave an open talk about his teaching experiences at the monastery and his early life as a monk in Tibet. Following the talk, a group photo was taken and a pot luck luncheon served.
Khenpo Gyurme has now returned to Rinpoche’s monastery in Kathmandu where he will be starting the new year’s teaching program for the student lamas. We are extremely grateful for Khenpo Gyurme’s time and effort in visiting the Yongey Buddhist Center and for his special guidance and teachings while here.
