Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche Visit June 16th 2025

We are happy to report on Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche’s visit to our Center for two days June 16 – 17. Three years have passed since Rinpoche’s last visit, and everyone was eager to meet and receive new teachings.

A Welcome Banquet was held the first night where 200 plus students and friends warmly welcomed Rinpoche’s return. Rinpoche greeted everyone and talked about his recent travels and plans. A presentation was also given by Dr. Justin Kelley, Executive Director, on the Tergar Schools project that provides educational benefits for the young students in the Himalayan region.

Early the next morning, over 400 students gathered at the Embassy Suites in Milpitas for a full-day seminar on Bardo Teachings – Meditation on Death and Dying. The seminar provided a rare opportunity to receive instructions from our Guru, the world-renowned meditation master Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche. Dr. Justin Kelley also gave presentations on the Tergar Schools project and the Tergar Institute.

Following the seminar, members of the Yongey Buddhist Center gathered at the Center for dinner with Rinpoche and private visit. Rinpoche blessed the Center and encouraged the members to continue their practice. Rinpoche departed early Wednesday for Mexico.
