Yongey Buddhist Center hosts two food drives each year, one in spring and the other in winter. Volunteers raise funds for the collection of food, clothing and medicine for monasteries and others in need of assistance. It is believed that through rescuing animals and releasing them back to their habitat one cultivates the compassion for all sentient beings. The practice and participation in such activity is a blessing for all sentient beings. Yongey Buddhist Center holds a monthly animal release. See Center's Activities. |
